Fans are now waiting for "Black Mirror" Season 5's release on Netflix, and they can't help but think of new futuristic concepts the anthology series has to offer. In his new book, titled "Inside Black Mirror," the show's creator Charlie Brooker teased the upcoming new installments, and his plans to revisit some of its critically-acclaimed episodes.
Charlie Brooker revealed he wanted to revisit "Black Mirror" Season 2 Episode 2 "White Bear." "There's been a sequel idea we've discussed for ages," he said, per Radio Times. Would it happen in "Black Mirror" Season 5?
The "White Bear" told the story of a woman named Victoria who believed that a signal turned the public into "mindless voyeurs." Charlie Brooker revealed that his idea would be about Victoria having déjà vu instead of wiped-out memories, and she would try to break out from a prison. If it indeed happens in "Black Mirror" Season 5, the show's creator would like to call it "Return to White Bear."
Aside from "White Bear," Charlie Brooker also wanted to revisit the critically acclaimed "Black Mirror" Season 3 Episode 4 "San Junipero." "I've always wanted to do a 'Return to' story," he said. This particular episode was about two women, Kelly and Yorkie, who fell in love in a "utopian-esque computer simulation." If it also happens in "Black Mirror" Season 5, the creator would give it a title, "Return to San Junipero."
Just as expected, "Black Mirror" Season 5 would take the great lengths to break boundaries again. One of its episodes would be so "interactive" that it would allow its viewers to choose the story's direction, according to Express.co.uk.
"That's the one thing we can say about season five: we've definitely come up with something that's the most complicated thing we've ever done," Charlie Brooker said in his book, "Inside Black Mirror." The creator along with the executive producer Annabel Jones also teased what is about to come in "Black Mirror" Season 5.
Charlie Brooker also revealed that "Black Mirror" Season 5 would feature "the usual departures from the norm." Annabel Jones, on the other hand, added that the Netflix original series would also tackle political climates, which the creator said that the new season would reflect on more. And of course, new episodes would be more complicated than ever.
"Inside Black Mirror" is specially made for the "Black Mirror" avid fans to let them have more idea about the show's episodes, the making, and behind-the-scenes details. The book would be out in November for £20, published by Ebury Press. "Black Mirror" Season 5, alternatively, would be out later this year on Netflix.
