Lucasfilm has been tightlipped about "Star Wars: Episode IX." But just like other movies from the franchise, it is surrounded by rumors and theories. There is a new assumption that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will return as a Force Ghost and he is about to face a Sith Force Ghost.
"Star Wars" theorist Mike Zeroh revealed in his new YouTube video that Luke's Force Ghost would go face to face against a Sith Force Ghost in "Star Wars: Episode IX," via Express. He claimed he has a source who shared the description of their alleged scene.
Just like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, Luke's Force Ghost would return to give Rey (Daisy Ridley) advice. Fans would allegedly see him inside a hut that leads to a tunnel, which might or might be not on Ahch-To, in "Star Wars: Episode IX."
Luke is holding a green lightsaber, and behind him is a black figure with red shades and carrying a red lightsaber. The individual is believed to be a Sith Force Ghost, and it seems to be wearing a robe and a hood over its head. Mark Hamill's character will then turn around and look at the mysterious personage in "Star Wars: Episode IX."
As the figure inches closer to Luke, he will then strike it. The Sith Force Ghost will suddenly disappear and appear again at his back in "Star Wars: Episode IX."
"The figure draws itself closer to Luke, takes a swing with its lightsaber at Luke before it crumbles to the ground into nothing," Zeroh said about the alleged Sith Force Ghost in "Star Wars: Episode IX." However, it is not yet clear if this scene between the two Jedis is only a flashback or in the present time when Luke is already a Force Ghost.
Epicstream reported the possibility of a Sith Force Ghost's appearance in "Star Wars: Episode IX" excites the fans. So far, Lucasfilm has featured only Force Ghosts on its franchise. It has been said Jedis only turn as a Force Ghost if it has good intentions.
Also, to prove the possibility of a Sith Force Ghost's appearance in "Star Wars: Episode IX," concept art from "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" showed a Sith Force Ghost visiting Luke on Ahch-To. Zeroh claimed that the mysterious individual wants to see Luke because of the red kyber crystal that he holds.
An official "Star Wars" book reportedly confirmed that the alleged red kyber crystal exists and it comes from the Old Republic. There is even an assumption that it has a connection with the ancient Sith.
However, fans should only take this theory as a grain of salt as Lucasfilm has yet to confirm this assumption. "Star Wars: Episode IX" will hit the theaters on December 20, 2019.
