EW reported that "Game of Thrones" Season 8 will start at Winterfell. There will be a lot of callback to its pilot episode where Daenerys arrives with her army, instead of King Robert's procession. There will be then an intermingling of characters, some of them are new ones while others have the complex histories. They are all preparing for the biggest battle against the Army of the Dead.
"It's about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death," co-executive producer Bryan Cogman said about "Game of Thrones" Season 8. "It's an incredibly emotional, haunting, bittersweet final season."
The show's fan-favorite characters will get along together in "Game of Thrones" Season 8. However, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), will get upset that Jon bent the knee on Daenerys, but things will eventually get better between the two.
"Game of Thrones" Season 8's battle with the Army of the Dead is said to be the most "sustained action sequence ever made for television or film." News emerged that it took the show's staff and crew 55 days to complete the battle's filming. However, the said number was only for the outdoor scenes on the set of Winterfell. It took them another couple of weeks to complete the epic fight inside the studio.
"It's brutal," Peter Dinklage said about "Game of Thrones" Season 8's battle with the Army of the Dead. "It makes the 'Battle of the Bastards' look like a theme park."
