"This Is Us" Season 3 Episode 5, "Toby," gave a glimpse to Jack Pearson's (Milo Ventimiglia) mysterious life as he stayed in Vietnam with a mystery woman. It gave birth to a new theory that he probably has another child, and it could be the new Asian character, Jae-won (Tim Jo), introduced in Episode 6, "Kamsahamnida." As fans' knowledge about Rebecca's (Mandy Moore) husband has changed, do viewers really know him or the show has a big surprise to reveal?
Since the previous season finale, fans suspect that there is something different about Jack's past when a flash-forward scene showed Kevin (Justin Hartley) on his way to Vietnam to know about his father's history. Some viewers assume his brother, Nicky, is still alive, while others believe he has a child with another woman before he met Rebecca. There are theories that Kevin is about to meet either his uncle or an unknown sibling in "This Is Us" Season 3.
As the show is known for its surprising turn of events, according to Bustle, it is not far to happen that Jack indeed has another child. But knowing his personality, it may be impossible that he knows he has a child in Vietnam, let alone left him growing without a father. Would this be revealed in "This Is Us" Season 3?
Jack would surely want to be a part of his alleged another kid's life. There are assumptions that he already got discharged before the woman even had the chance to tell him about her pregnancy. Would a new Pearson family member be introduced in "This Is Us" Season 3?
A lot of fans raised their eyebrows with the introduction of Jae-won in "This Is Us" Season 3 Episode 6. Many of them assumed that Randall's (Sterling K. Brown) new campaign manager is a possible secret member of the Pearson family.
However, Refinery29 reported it is very unlikely to happen. It is also impossible that the Big-Three, Kate (Chrissy Metz), Randall, and Kevin, has a secret family member or a half-sibling in "This Is Us" Season 3. It is even unlikely that it is Jae-won as he is Korean.
Jae-won openly talks about his ethnicity in "This Is Us" Season 3. His grandmother, Kim Kim, was even born in Korea. He also fluently speaks Korean.
If Jack indeed has another child that may get introduced in "This Is Us" Season 3, the kid should be half-Vietnamese. So it is not possible that Jae-won is Randall, Kate, and Kevin's half-sibling.
