It looks like actor Lee Jong Suk is not planning to stay out of the spotlight for too long. After playing Jung Jae Chan in 2017's "While You Were Sleeping," the 29-year-old Hallyu star will star next in the new SBS drama "Hymn of Death" (tentative title).

Lee Jong Suk has been tapped to headline the upcoming SBS drama "Hymn of Death," which is based on the true story of Kim Woo Jin and Yun Sim Deok, as per The Kpop Herald. In the upcoming drama, he will play Kim Woo Jin, a genius playwright of the Joseon era.

While studying in Japan, Kim Woo Jin meets and falls in love with Yun Sim Deok, the country's first professional soprano, despite being a married man. The two, then, committed suicide together in 1926 by jumping off of a passenger ship en route from Shimonoseki, Japan to Busan, South Korea.

In addition to their tragic love story, "Hymn of Death" will also delve deeper into the early life and literary achievements of Kim Woo Jin. Despite his brief career, he reportedly had a remarkable influence on modern theatre in South Korea.

"Hymn of Death" will be directed by Park Su Jin, whose previous works include 2017's "While You Were Sleeping," 2016's "Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim," and "Doctor Crush," based on a screenplay by Jo Soo Jin. It is a special three-part series, which is set to air on Nov. 27, Dec. 3, and Dec. 4 at 10 p.m. (KST) on SBS.

In other related news, Lee Jong Suk and his staff have safely arrived in South Korea after being detained in Jakarta, Indonesia for about two days. His scheduled return to the country was reportedly delayed due to the inept business handling by local event promoter Yes 24, which included default on tax payment and failure to acquire a short-term employment visa.

Following the incident, Lee Jong Suk's agency YNK Entertainment (A-Man Project) said they would take legal action through the law firm, Yulchon, which is based in Seoul's southern district of Gangnam.

"We plan to respond with firm legal action against the agencies and local promoter who caused this incident through law firm Yulchon (lawyer-in-charge Ahn Jung Hye), and all countermeasures hereafter will be conducted through the law firm," YNK Entertainment (A-Man Project) said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "We apologize once again to the drama production company, all of the staff members, and to the public for causing concern."
