In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chrissy Metz revealed that an upcoming Kate and Toby's storyline on "This Is Us" Season 3 would be a "first on network television." "Toby and Kate are going to have a bit of an unconventional parenting situation," she said.
After a miscarriage and some attempts to get pregnant, Kate and Toby sought the help of IVF. Chrissy Metz's character, fortunately, got pregnant, but they are once again up for a big challenge in "This Is Us" Season 3. It is something fans have never seen before.

The show will also give another look to Jack's brother, Nicky (Michael Angarano), and his war story.
