After eight months, Wanna One finally addressed the issues surrounding a leaked live broadcast, where they got accused of cursing and making crude jokes, in March. In a recent episode of "Happy Together 4," the South Korean boy band revealed what happened that day.

Ha Sung Woon spoke up for Wanna One as he specifically got accused of saying nasty things. The 24-year-old star insisted that he never said what people thought he said. He admitted that he got hurt, and could neither give an excuse nor explain himself at the time.

According to Koreaboo, as Wanna One chose not to talk, the controversy went out of control. Even Ha Sung Woon's family members got affected by the issue. The singer revealed that his younger brother got bullied and called on names based on the words he promised he didn't say.

As he felt sorry for his brother, Ha Sung Woon promised himself that he would air his side of the story. He would like to clear his name out of the Wanna One controversy.

Lai Kuanlin then came to his bandmate's defense and confessed that he was the one who uttered those alleged vulgar words. He explained that he didn't correctly pronounce its sound, so people quickly thought that it was a rude joke.

"I was hyped up so my tone of voice was high," Lai Kuanlin said. The Wanna One member cleared Ha Sung Woon's name and vowed that he didn't say anything impolite.

The issue started on Wanna One's return in March. Soompi reported that the "Wanna" hitmaker had no idea that they were getting filmed while they were preparing for a live broadcast, and that clip leaked.

The video circulated online. When it got out of control, a controversy about the boys' alleged remarks surrounded Wanna One. Ha Sung Woon received much of the criticisms as people accused him of repeatedly cursing. Some also said that he delivered a slang word for a sexual act.

So to defend Wanna One and Ha Sung Woon, fans asked for the video's scientific analysis by a forensic expert. The result showed that the singer didn't say any swear words, and some of the noises heard, which some considered cursing, were from machinery's sound in the background.

The result also proved that the alleged sexual term the public heard was a phrase "Answer me," and it was not uttered by Ha Sung Woon. Some people were not convinced of the forensic result because it came from a public company. But when they requested for another test by Soongsil University in Seoul, it showed the same results.
