Recently, Song Seung Heon shared in an interview about his approach in acting, the turning points in his career, and the changes in his life since his 20s. The Korean actor debuted as a clothing brand model back in 1995, and started his acting career with MBC's "Three Guys, Three Girls." He becomes famous with popular dramas including "East of Eden," "Autumn in My Heart," and "Summer Scent," and some of his previous and latest shows were OCN's "Black" and "The Player."
Song Seung Heon shared his approach to acting when he was younger, saying he didn't know how to act when he was in his 20s and 30s, Soompi reported. The actor revealed he never prepared for acting which makes it hard for him to prepare when there's a project, and it wasn't fun at all.
One day, he suddenly started acting, where he acted under pressure. He said that's what he did when he acts - putting himself under pressure - that's why he didn't find acting fun when he was young. He even shared he wanted to switch the channel whenever he sees "Autumn in My Heart" until now.
Song Seung Heon then shared that a letter from a fan changed the way he thinks about acting. The letter touched him as it said, "Please live a life where you're thankful to yourself as someone who acts for his job." The actor never thought he had touched someone through his acting, so he tried to do his best and made acting fun. And after about three to four years, he finally considered acting fun and started to be more ambitious in acting.
The movie "Obsessed" is the project that made him changed the most. Song Seung Heon said he was trapped in a mold which he tried to break, and the film helped him broke that mold. The actor shared that although the project was about adultery, the emotions of his character were heartbreaking. There's also a physical exposure in the movie, which he wanted to do at least once in his acting career. He said "Obsessed" was a turning point in his acting career because after taking the challenges of that project, choosing his next projects became easier.
Song Seung Heon also talked about the changes since his 20s. He said that as he gets older, he tried a lot of tense and cool acting, and he felt comfortable in doing the fantasy-thriller series "Black." The actor thinks that as time goes by, his thoughts and posture became more flexible and he's glad that he received praises on that drama.
When it comes to his future projects, Song Seung Heon said he is thinking about a few projects right now, but he hasn't yet decided on what to do. But the actor shared he wanted to try another traditional and melodrama series like the "Autumn in My Heart."
