Encounter released some stunning photos from Cuba, the off-site filming location of the series. The upcoming drama of tvN is a story about Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo), a woman who has everything but never lived her life the way she wanted, and Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum), an ordinary man who finds happiness and contentment in simple things.
According to Soompi, "Encounter" is the first ever South Korean drama in which the filming location was held in Cuba. The place had bright colors as well as vintage space; both needed to individually portray the different characters of Cha Soo Hyun and Kim Jin Hyuk following their chance meeting. After determining the location, the production staff of the series went on to officially start filming in the country.
Last September, the staff and the actors flew to Havana, Cuba to film "Encounter" for about a month. Cuba was known for its breathtaking views and nostalgic streets and buildings from the past, giving the country a unique atmosphere. The drama used the places that carry a deep history for its filming sites, including the Hotel Nacional de Cuba and Havana's Malecon beach.
The characters of Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum will have a magical encounter in Cuba, showing the series' enchanting setting. According to the production staff, it's hard to get permission filming in Cuba, so they put a lot of efforts in making it happen. The staff, as well as the actors, really worked together under the South American sun to create beautiful and heart-throbbing scenes. They are also planning to portray the gaiety and aesthetic elements of Cubans throughout the entire drama, so viewers should look forward on the country's exotic and beautiful scenery.
Meanwhile, the newly released poster shows how Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum were lost in each other's eyes while the sun sets behind them over the cityscape. Their expressions seem to hint an emotional and heartwarming that can be expected in the series. The way they look at each other, it seems like they wanted to say so many things but their eyes understood what they meant.
The production team said everyone probably thought at least once what would it feels like meeting a fateful partner on vacation, so they are hoping to make viewers' hearts flutter on how Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum unexpectedly meet in Cuba. The series will be airing its first episode this coming November 28 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
