"Pokemon Let's Go" have the unfortunate experience of already having to deal with pets mistaking the new Pokeball controller for chew toys. While losing a $100 controller to a pet is already a stressful situation, it seems that there are other insidious issues that players of both "Pokemon Let's Go" and "Pokemon Go" have to watch out for.
With "Pokemon Let's Go's" recent release earlier this month, the game's capacity to communicate with Niantic's augmented reality Pokemon game "Pokemon Go" has been one of the new title's major selling points. Pokemon gamers who may have simply dabbled in "Pokemon Go" now have a better reason to take the mobile game more seriously to get the full "Pokemon Let's Go" experience. But it seems that the vaunted "Pokemon Let's Go" and "Pokemon Go" integrations have serious hurdles that could ruin any serious fan's experience.
According to GameSpot, "Pokemon Let's Go" players transferring pokemon from"Pokemon Go" are vulnerable to a bug that completely erases any trace of a transferred pokemon. The specific issue happens when an ongoing transfer between "Pokemon Let's Go" and "Pokemon Go" occurs but something interrupts the transfer process.
While Nintendo has already released guidelines for "Pokemon Let's Go" players to follow to ensure that such a transfer loss does not happen, there are still cases which could lead to a transfer interruption not covered by the guidelines. One of these cases includes a situation when the transfer progress simply halts due to no apparent reason. According to Nintendo, if such a case happens players should turn off and re-install the "Pokemon Go" app.
Unfortunately, re-installing the "Pokemon Go" app, ends with interrupting the transfer progress which leads to the loss of the pokemon being transferred. The loss of a beloved pokemon caught in "Pokemon Go" to a botched transfer attempt to "Pokemon Let's Go" seems to be a significant risk for players who have spent countless hours curating their "Pokemon Go" roster.
"Pokemon Go" players who are familiar with the grind that most enthusiasts of Niantic's augmented reality game go through to simply get the pokemon they need understand the primary issue. The possibility of losing even one hard-won pokemon due to a "Pokemon Let's Go" transfer problem is a serious blow to the user experience, invalidating large swathes of time spent on "Pokemon Go."
As of this publication, Nintendo has yet to release a statement if there is any way to recover pokemon lost due to a "Pokemon Let's Go" transfer. For now, it seems that "Pokemon Let's Go" players will just have to follow Nintendo guidelines and cross their fingers that nothing bad could interrupt their pokemon transfers.
