Song Hye Kyo, Park Bo Gum, and director Park Shin Woo graced the press conference for the upcoming tvN drama, "Encounter," on Wednesday, November 21. The three talked about the much-awaited TV project, and even Song Joong Ki.
Song Hye Kyo revealed that Song Joong Ki advised her to work hard for her new project after her brief hiatus since they get married. Her husband also assured her that he would be watching "Encounter."
Park Bo Gum, on the other hand, revealed he received the same advice from Song Joong Ki. "I am working my hardest on filming without feeling burdened," he said, per Soompi. He also showed his support to Song Hye Kyo's husband and cheered for his returning project, "Asadal."
Talking about working together for "Encounter," Park Bo Gum said he felt so honored to be working with Song Hye Kyo. The 25-year-old actor revealed Song Joong Ki's wife is considerate, brings her food, gives her advice, and takes good care of him. Although he found it hard to approach her at first, they eventually get along together while filming and talking about their characters. "She is beautiful in every way," he said.
Alternatively, Song Hye Kyo revealed that she and Park Bo Gum were not close before filming "Encounter." Although the "Love in the Moonlight" actor is Song Joong Ki's close friend, they never knew each other until they met for the new tvN drama. Even though the "Music Bank" host is younger than her, she also found it hard to approach him at first.
Song Hye Kyo also talked about their nature on the set of "Encounter." The 37-year-old star revealed that she often talks to Park Shin Woo and Park Bo Gum. They never had disagreements, and they are always on the same page, so their production in Cuba and Korea works smoothly.
Talking about "Encounter" production, Park Shin Woo admitted they "need courage from small to big efforts" to filming the show, via HelloKpop. He even assured that Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo's new drama is a beautiful story that will begin with "something" that will turn into "something special."
Park Shin Woo even revealed that he chose Cuba as one of the filming locations as its beautiful scenery emphasizes love and romance. "I thought of Cuba as a place where I could express the emotions of love well," he said. He also described Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo's upcoming TV series would be like no other as it would be more poetic that people can relate to, and would have enough content that viewers would surely enjoy.
"Encounter" will air on November 28 at 9 p.m. on tvN. It will also be out on Viki.
