Song Hye Kyo graced the press conference of her returning television project, "Encounter," at Imperial Palace Seoul on Wednesday, November 21. The 36-year-old star talked about her new tvN drama opposite Park Bo Gum and even revealed her husband's, Song Joong Ki, reaction on her new show and life after marriage.
Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki got married in October 2017. The Song-Song couple then went on a break and enjoyed each other's company. Now, the two return with their respective television projects, "Encounter" and "Asadal."
Talking about life after marriage, Song Hye Kyo revealed nothing much has changed between her and Song Joong Ki. "I don't feel a big difference after getting married yet," she said, per AllKpop.
She then talked about Song Joong Ki's comments about "Encounter." "Song Joong Ki told me to work hard," Song Hye Kyo said. She also added that the "Asadal" actor told her that he would watch her returning project.
Song Hye Kyo then talked about "Encounter" and proudly said that its script is incredibly outstanding. She continued to say that the show would go "beyond imagination" with Park Shin Woo's directorial skills. Add to that Park Bo Gum's incredible acting, and then the series would have "good production." The "Love in the Moonlight" star also took a break from doing television projects for nearly two years.
It will be the first time that Song Hye Kyo will play the role of a divorced woman. The "Descendants of the Sun" star described that it is completely different compared to the roles she has played before.
In "Encounter," Song Hye Kyo plays the role of Cha Soo Hyun, a bright and optimistic woman who turned to be "narrow-minded" after living a very frustrating life. She will then meet Park Bo Gum's character as Kim Jin Hyuk who will teach her to find herself again.
According to the Korea Herald, Song Hye Kyo revealed that fans are about to see both of their bright and dark sides in "Encounter." The show will tell a story of two persons who opposite each other. Cha has no control of her life while Kim is a free-spirited man. They are set to meet each other in Cuba.
Set in Havana, Cuba, "Encounter" filming took nearly a month to wrap up. Fans will see the country's beautiful scenery from Malecon beach to the Hotel Nacional de Cuba to its streets' old buildings.
Park Bo Gum even said that viewers might feel like they are watching a film when they see the new tvN drama. "Encounter" will hit the television screens on November 28. It will also be available on Viki.
