CD Projekt RED's upcoming and ambitious sci-fi title may have already set high expectations with its 2018 reveals, but it seems that the game publisher is not satisfied. It seems that the studio is best known for developing and publishing the critically acclaimed "Witcher 3" is making new promises for "Cyberpunk 2077."
According to GameSpot, CD Projekt RED is looking toward's the recent success of Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption 2" as the performance baseline of "Cyberpunk 2077." The company's CEO, Adam Kicinski, mentions during an investor presentation that games of high quality, such as "Red Dead Redemption 2" is what video gamers are looking for, and such quality is what "Cyberpunk 2077" should strive to become.
Kicinski also mentions that since video gamers tend to focus on titles that are obvious hits, taking the time to invest in the quality of "Cyberpunk 2077" is definitely the bigger business opportunity for the game development and publishing company. To emphasize that "Cyberpunk 2077" is ready to aim for a high-quality benchmark, Kicinski also shares that the game's development team is currently in the process of populating the "Cyberpunk 2077" world.
According to Kicinski, fans of "Cyberpunk 2077" can expect the game's final release to be significantly more detailed in comparison to its E3 and Gamescom previews. But aside from an immersive singleplayer experience, it seems that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be going back to one of its originally deprioritized features.
CD Projekt RED's goal to match "Red Dead Redemption 2's" quality and experience when "Cyberpunk 2077" is released comes at a time after news that the studio has enlisted Digital Scapes to help out with the upcoming title. Digital Scapes is best known for producing multiplayer content with the studio working with Techland for their "Dying Light" video game.
Fans of "Cyberpunk 2077" will already know that multiplayer was originally a planned feature for the game but was eventually shelved when more recent previews and interviews mention more resources being dedicated to its singleplayer experience. With Digital Scapes now assisting with "Cyberpunk 2077" it looks like a multiplayer component is back on the drawing board. "Cyberpunk 2077's" potential revival of multiplayer development may be in-line with "Red Dead Redemption 2's" own promise of an online experience.
Fans looking forward to getting confirmation about a potential multi-player component for "Cyberpunk 2077" still have time to wait for an announcement from CD Projekt RED. Hopefully, with Digital Scapes' involvement, multi-player will a ba standard release feature when "Cyberpunk 2077" is unveiled sometime in 2019.
