"Warframe" may be making waves on the Nintendo Switch with its latest portable conversion, but the game's PC players are getting an even bigger surprise. It seems that the "Fortuna" expansion has yet to roll out all the significant content that Digital Extremes has prepared for its fans and details about the upcoming update have just been revealed.
According to PC Gamer, "Warframe" players can expect the "Fortuna" expansion to become even larger in scale before the year ends. Speaking with "Warframe" community manager, Rebecca Ford, the publication notes that the upcoming update will add to the current expansion's storyline in what Ford dubs as "Fortuna part two." Players can expect to go up against three Orb Mothers - giant spider-like beings native to Fortuna - that have been co-opted by the expansion's primary antagonist to do his bidding.
As of present, "Warframe" players are unable to damage any Orb Mothers they encounter on Fortuna's surface but it seems the upcoming update will provide players the opportunity to hurt the gigantic beings. Ford mentions that battling the Orb Mothers in the upcoming "Fortuna" update will take more than simply shooting the giant sentient bugs. According to her, the mechanic for beating the Orb Mothers was inspired by heist movie "Oceans Eleven," but Ford did not reveal specific details about what players can expect upon the "Warframe" update's release.
One of the key points that Ford was able to reveal about the upcoming Orb Mother battles is the fact that the three Orb Mothers will have distinct abilities that "Warframe" players will have to deal with. PC Gamer notes that as of present, it is unclear whether all three Orb Mothers will be fought simultaneously of if there will be stages to engaging all of them separately.
With the ambitious storyline ready to go live on "Warframe," Ford says that fans can expect the upcoming boss fights with the Orb Mothers to incorporate feedback from players about boss battles. "Warframe" players have already had the chance to fight huge super-bosses in the game's last expansion, "Plains of Eidolon," and the feedback from such gameplay will definitely help improve "Fortuna's" upcoming update.
The upcoming "Warframe" update may have been accidentally teased when earlier this month, a bug allowed one of the Orb Mothers to spawn within the Fortuna player hub. Digital Extremes had already pointed towards the possibility that the bug was connected to a yet to be revealed feature or update and it now seems that Rebecca Ford's reveal gives a clearer picture about what "Warframe" fans can expect from the giant bugs in the near future.
