South Korean actor Hyun Bin will soon return to the small screen via tvN's "Memories of the Alhambra." Ahead of its premiere, he revealed how the upcoming series will be different from his previous shows.
At the press conference for the upcoming tvN series, Hyun Bin said he chose "Memories of the Alhambra" as his comeback drama because it is something different from his previous shows - from the storyline down to the character.
"['Memories of the Alhambra'] deals with AR (augmented reality) certainly played a role in my decision to join it," Hyun Bin said during the press conference at a hotel in southern Seoul, as quoted by Yonhap News Agency. "As far as I know, it is the first South Korean drama to feature the technology, and I am wondering if the viewers can find it as interesting and refreshing as I did."
His co-star Park Shin Hye, on the other hand, got attracted to the show's unique and promising storyline as she believed it sends out some social messages through the technology. Moreover, she liked her character, which she described as very warm-hearted and humane.
In "Memories of the Alhambra," Hyun Bin plays Yoo Jin Woo, a chief executive officer of an investment company. After he gets betrayed by his close friend, he goes on a business trip to Granada, Spain to meet a genius game programmer Jung Se Joo (Park Chan Yeol).
There, Yoo Jin Woo gets entangled in a mysterious incident with a former guitarist, Jung He Joo (Park Shin Hye), who also happens to be the owner of the hostel where he stays.
Also starring in the upcoming tvN series are Park Hoon as Cha Hyung Seok, a chief executive officer of an IT company and Yoo Jin Woo's biggest rival; Han Bo Reum as Ko Yoo Ra, a former celebrity and Yoo Jin-woo's second ex-wife; Lee Jae Wook as Marco Han, an international student who is a programmer and hacker; and Jo Hyun Chul as Choi Yang Joo, a computer genius and current head of R&D Center Research Team of Jaywon Holdings.
