George R.R. Martin's new book, "Fire and Blood," gave a lot of hints about "Game of Thrones" Season 8. Although its tale reveals Targaryen's history 300 years ago before "A Song of Ice and Fire" happens, it still plays a significant role in the current story of the HBO series. It also has some hints about the show's finale.

But in true George R.R. Martin style, fans can't easily see these "Game of Thrones" Season 8 hints in "Fire and Blood." "There are a few that are important, but I'm not going to flag them," the 70-year-old author told Entertainment Weekly. "Readers will have to find them and puzzle out whether they're hints or red herrings."

But according to Mashable, there is this one particular story in "Fire and Blood" that seems very connected to "Game of Thrones" Season 8. The book confirms that Orys, Aegon I Targaryen's half-brother and Hand, indeed found House Baratheon. It only means that Gendry (Joe Dempsie) has the Targaryen blood, which also suggests that he can ride and even hatch dragons.

So from the looks of it, Gendry, along with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), will complete the three heads of the dragon or the Targaryen sigil. It also implies that Gendry will play a major role in "Game of Thrones" Season 8's greatest battle.

Another hint about Gendry that "Fire and Blood" reveals is the ancient prophecy about becoming a king. "When the hammer shall fall upon the dragon, a new king shall arise, and none shall stand before him," it reads. Will Gendry rule the Seven Kingdoms in "Game of Thrones" Season 8?

The "Fire and Blood" prophecy seems to fit either Gendry or his father, Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy). As Gendry is the only person who knows how to smelt Valyrian steel that kills the White Walkers, he may kill Viserion and make way for Jon Snow to be the new King in "Game of Thrones" Season 8.

Another theory surrounding "Game of Thrones" Season 8 is the coming of Azor Ahai, or the Prince That Was Promised. A lot of theorists believe its Jon Snow when he revealed a wight to unite the Seven Kingdoms.

But as his sword, the Lightbringer, will only become effective when he thrust it to his wife's heart, possibly Daenerys, will Jon do it in "Game of Thrones" Season 8? George R.R. Martin has something to say about that, per News.com.au.

George R.R. Martin explained that the Targaryens has prophetic powers that can let them see glimpses of the future. However, it is often "fragmentary and symbolic," so they don't properly interpret it. "But to what extent did they share those gifts, what did he see, what prompted him to do all this?" he asked. "The Winds of Winter" author didn't confirm if Jon Snow would do it, but once again gave a dark hint of what might happen in "Game of Thrones" Season 8 that fans would only see when the show returns.
