Another Girls' Generation is about to debut solo. Echo Global Group earlier announced on Monday, December 3, that Sooyoung is about to release her first solo single this December.
Echo Global Group confirmed Sooyoung's debut as a solo artist. However, the agency didn't reveal when exactly the Girls' Generation member's new song would be out.
"Sooyoung is releasing her first solo single," Echo Global Group said in a statement, via Soompi. "It is confirmed for a December release."
Sooyoung is reportedly hard at work to complete her solo album. The 29-year-old star is also busy filming her music video, which will be out this month.
Aside from singing Korean dramas' official soundtracks (OST), it will be the first time that Sooyoung will go solo after her debut with Girls' Generation in 20017. She also ventures on other gigs like acting.
Sooyoung has led some Korean dramas like "The Third Hospital," "My Spring Days, "Perfect Sense, and "Man in the Kitchen," per HelloKpop. She is also now preparing for her new role, Lee Geun Young, opposite Choi Tae Joon in the television adaptation of the 2016 romantic-comedy film "So I Married an Anti-Fan."
Sooyoung is also set to hold a yearend two-day special photo exhibit titled "Made in #ChoiSooYoung: 이'별이 빛나다 (The Goodbye Shines)." The event will take place at the Seoul Forest Understand Avenue Art Stand on December 29 to 30.
Sooyoung will be reflecting her youth at the said event under her real name, Choi Soo-young, now that she is about to turn 30 in a couple of months. "I am 29 years old this year and will bid farewell to my 20s (next year)," Sooyoung said, according to the Korea Times. "I was thinking of how I could return my fans' love and prepared this exhibition."
Sooyoung's photo exhibit will show some of her photographs and videos. Some of it will focus on her life as a singer and as an actress. It will also give people a glimpse of her personal life as Choi Soo-young.
Sooyoung collaborates with Culture-Bridge (SIDA), a fundraising platform that aims to help promote artists' new projects. It also co-organized the former singer of the Korean-Japanese duo Route θ's art event.
"Made in #ChoiSooYoung: 이'별이 빛나다" is the first event in "Made in #" series of projects. Fans can now book their tickets to see Sooyoung's photo exhibit on www.c-bridge.co.kr, which already opened on November 23.
