After playing the iconic role of P. T. Barnum in the hit 2017 musical film "The Greatest Showman," actor Hugh Jackman is now all set to conquer the small screen.

According to the latest issue of Star Magazine (via Gossip Cop), Hugh Jackman has been tapped as one of the judges in a new television competition series from "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe.

"[Nigel Lythgoe] He sees Hugh [Jackman] as the ultimate feel-good judge, and they both share a love of dance, so they've been kicking around some ideas," an unnamed insider told Star Magazine. "Plus, he loves mentoring up-and-coming actors, and he could potentially earn hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode."

The insider went on to say that ever since Hugh Jackman turned 50 years old, he allegedly realized that his days doing stunt-heavy action films are numbered. Thus, going in a different direction and tapping into his theatrical side is not a bad idea.

Not long after it came to light, Hugh Jackman's representative quickly debunked the claim and stressed the entire narrative is completely made-up. Moreover, the actor-singer has not been approached about judging a reality competition show.

In fact, Hugh Jackman, who is known for his long-running role as Logan / Wolverine in the "X-Men" film series, is currently busy preparing for his upcoming world arena tour dubbed "The Man. The Music. The Show," according to Billboard.

During "The Man. The Music. The Show" world arena tour, Hugh Jackman is expected to perform several Broadway/Hollywood musical numbers, in addition to the songs from his previous films "The Greatest Showman" and "Les Miserables."

The European leg of "The Man. The Music. The Show" will kick off on May 13, 2019, at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany and will conclude on June 2 and June 3 at the O2 Arena in London.

He will also hold 22 shows in North America, which will kick off on June 18, 2019, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and continue across cities like Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas and Atlanta, Ga. It will conclude on July 19 and July 20 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

In addition to that, Hugh Jackman will also voice the character of Sir Lionel Frost, a myths and monsters investigator, in the upcoming animated film "Missing Link." It is set to open in theaters on April 12, 2019.
