After the announcement of Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades) and Troy Otto's (Daniel Sharman) return, two more familiar faces may appear in "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5. Co-creator and former showrunner Dave Erickson also wants Qaletaqa Walker (Michael Greyeyes) and Lee (Justin Rain), a.k.a. 'Crazy Dog,' to make a comeback next season.

Erickson responded to a fan who said that he should return to "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 before executive producer and chief content officer Scott Gimple destroyed the two best characters he introduced. He said that he is very proud of Daniel Salazar and Troy Otto's characters and humble by Rubén Blades and Daniel Sharman's portrayals.

According to Comic Book, he is even happy that their on-screen lives get extended. However, Erickson is hoping that Michael Greyeyes and Justin Rain will return, too, to "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 as Qaletaqa Walker and Crazy Dog.

Erickson served as "Fear the Walking Dead" showrunner for its first three seasons. He left the show in March after signing a "multi-year overall development deal" with AMC producers. He created the show along with "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman as the original series' spinoff story.

After Erickson's departure, "Once Upon a Time" showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldbe became the new lead for "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 4. They work with Gimple, who is also a former "The Walking Dead" showrunner for five seasons. The latter then promoted to CCO for the entire "The Walking Dead" brand, so he is now the creative role of "Fear the Walking Dead."

Meanwhile, Daniel Sharman's return in "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 surprises everyone, believing his character as Troy Otto already met his demise. Fans believed he got killed by Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) when she hit him a hammer over the head in "FTWD" Season 3.

Fortunately, Madison is no longer around to take her revenge against Troy in "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5. IGN reported that it might also be impossible that Madison could hurt Troy if she is still around. Fans might only see him in flashback scenes, and AMC has yet to reveal in how many episodes he would appear.

Ruben Blades, on the other hand, confirmed his return to "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 as Daniel Salazar in an interview with the Panamanian site Día a Día. Although his comeback is quite expected, his revelation is the first word that confirmed his comeback.

"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 5 returns sometime in 2019 after AMC announced its renewal in July. Recently, "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 4 underwent a major reboot.
