Philippine television MC Ryan Bang made a guest appearance on MBC Every1's "Video Star" on December 11. Bang, who worked in television for almost nine years, talked about Sandara Park and the differences between Philippine and Korean broadcasts.
Bang said that, in the Philippines, if they have a broadcast for one hour, they will record it for one her, Soompi reported. If there's a one-hour talk show, then they will record it for about one hour and five minutes. He revealed he was surprised when he found out Korean variety usually shows record for almost seven or eight hours.
Then, he joked he never talked to his first love or girlfriend on the phone for more than four hours or so. When he woke up, he's still talking to the writer of the show and joked they almost started dating.
Talking about Sandara Park, Bang said the former 2NE1 member was popular in the Philippines compared to him. He said Dara was already number 1 when she started, wherein she's riding a helicopter during her gigs while he's only riding a motorcycle. He then joked once again, saying he feels he can ride a helicopter now as he had accomplished a lot over the past nine years.
Bang also shared Dara always takes care of him whenever he comes to South Korea - even before he started his career and no one knew who he was. Dara, who's over the phone, said she and Bang always contact each other when they're in Korea or the Philippines, wherein they go out to eat or go on trips. Although she didn't reveal any secrets about Bang, she said they've known each other's dating interests.
One of the "Video Star" MCs then asked Dara when she will be making a guest appearance on their show. She said she could do it anytime as long as they would also invite guests that's close to her because she's shy. Dara said she's good at variety shows in the Philippines, but not in Korea as she thinks she's not fun at all.
But then, Bang said Dara has a lot of talents, and she's funnier than him, and she can be a comedian. He added Dara is one of the popular top celebrities in the Philippines, saying she's a top MC, a top actress, a top singer, and everyone likes her.
Bang also shared Dara was not used going out one-on-one with someone because she's a shy person, so instead, she will invite a bunch of guys that like her at once and will sit there.
"Among the guys, some will be more assertive, and... I don't know. I've only seen up until then," he added.
