"Black Ops 4" has recently received a massive update that has revamped the games Black Market and game modes. But "Operation Absolute Zero" is also bringing in a fine addition to the "Black Ops 4's" Blackout game mode by introducing the game's first combat vehicle.
According to Dexerto, "Black Ops 4" players will now be able to take the new ARAV out for a spin in "Blackout" mode. The ARAV is a three-seater combat vehicle that can seat a three-person crew - a driver, passenger, and a gunner. The interesting feature about the ARAV that "Black Ops 4" player can enjoy is the fact that even the passenger can potentially contribute to a fight by being able to lean out from the passenger's window. This allows the passenger access to his weapons, contributing to the firepower already being brought by the ARAV's gunner.
Gunners on the ARAV have access to the vehicle's heavy machine gun which has an infinite ammo well. The firepower of the gunner's copula is balanced by the "Black Ops 4" mechanic of overheating weapons. Quick-witted "Black Ops 4" players going up against the ARAV can also damage the gunner's weapon to disable it, ensuring that the ARAV turret is not a fully dominating game feature.
IGN recently posted a video showcasing the maneuverability and speed of the new ARAV. It is quite noticeable that despite the vehicle's intimidating appearance, "Black Ops 4" players on foot are not at a significant disadvantage when going up against the ARAV. The video also shows that most of the ARAV occupants prefer to disembark the new "Black Ops 4" vehicle after a short while to engage their opponents on foot.
IGN's video also showcases the vehicle's vulnerability despite its armored status. Even when going up against other "Black Ops 4" players, the new ARAV still takes significant damage from small arms fire. As the first introduction of a combat vehicle in "Black Ops 4," it seems Treyarch may still be gauging the effects of vehicles to the multi-player meta to ensure a good player experience with the new changes.
While the ARAV is only available in the Blackout game mode, there are other surprises from "Operation Absolute Zero" that will keep "Black Ops 4" gamers busy until the next update. The ARAV's introduction to "Black Ops 4" comes with the latest operative - Zero - that players can unlock through the game's updated Black Market Tiers. In addition, players can also expect to find it easier to join Zombie Mode games as playing extended rounds of the game mode gives players Black Market Tier rewards as well.
