South Korean actor-singer Rain is on a roll. After announcing his own one-man agency R.A.I.N. Company, the 36-year-old Hallyu star is eyeing to produce a male solo artist and a multi-national boy group.

The exciting news came to light when a source in the music industry revealed that Rain is planning to launch a male solo artist and a seven-member multi-national boy group sometime in late 2019 or early 2020.

Currently, he is reportedly searching for passionate and skilled talent through auditions in South Korea and overseas. He has also met with various broadcasting station representatives a few times regarding the project.

"Rain has previously shown his ambition towards training juniors in the industry as a producer," the unnamed source in the music industry said, as quoted by Soompi. "With the upcoming male solo artist and group from Rain Company, he will officially be starting on the path of a producer."

Not long after it made noise online, a representative from R.A.I.N. Company has confirmed the report and revealed that the preparations began late 2017. Now, they are currently in the stages of internal planning. More in-depth details about it will be revealed soon.

The news does not come as a surprise to many fans considering Rain's passion for training juniors in the music industry. The actor-singer appeared as a mentor on KBS 2TV's survival reality show titled "The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project."

He is also considered one of the nation's international star - thanks to his seven albums ("Bad Guy," "Rain 2," "It's Raining," "Rain's World," "Rainism," "Rain Effect" and "Eternal Rain"), more than 20 singles and numerous concert across South Korea and overseas.

Moreover, Rain established himself as a Hallyu star with his role as Lee Young Jae in the 2004 romantic comedy-drama "Full House." He is also known for his leading roles in 2005's "A Love to Kill," 2010's "The Fugitive: Plan B," 2014's "My Lovely Girl," 2015's "Diamond Lover," 2016's "Come Back Mister," and 2018's "Sketch."

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, also made his Hollywood debut in the 2008 sports action-comedy film, "Speed Racer." It was then followed by a supporting role in the German-American neo-noir martial arts action thriller film, "Ninja Assasin."

As of press time, Rain is reportedly busy filming the upcoming Chinese drama tentatively titled "Endless August" alongside Chinese actress-singer Victoria Song. No release date has been set yet.
