One of the biggest challenges Olivia Colman had to tackle in playing Queen Elizabeth on "The Crown," the Netflix drama series about the British Monarchy, was to learn how to speak French with the right fluency and accent. Fortunately, she could count on the help of Helena Bonham Carter, who plays her younger sister, Princess Margaret, in the show.

Colman revealed to Vanity Fair that while she had French lessons from an actual teacher in preparing for her role, she also asked Bonham Carter for help. Colman shared that her co-star, who could speak the language like a native, took the task quite seriously.

Just like sisters who supported each other, Bonham Carter apparently prepared elaborate French video tutorials just for Colman and the actress couldn't be more grateful for the effort. She commended Bonham Carter for being such a lovely and extraordinary woman. She also said that she felt very lucky to be working with her.

Colman also compared her bond with Bonham Carter to their TV characters. She shared that "The Crown" season 3 will feature a more stable relationship between the royal sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret.

Whatever gaps and rifts the sisters have, as shown in the earlier seasons, will settle now that they are much older. In the new season, the sisters will realize that they can only count and trust each other since they know each other best.

Around this time last year, viewers of Netflix across the globe have binged-watch the second season of "The Crown." But there will be no launch of a new installment this December since the cast and crew have not yet finished filming "The Crown" season 3. The show will also simultaneously film season 4.

The delay, however, was intentional. "The Crown" had to do a major cast revamp after season 2 by changing its lead stars because the new installments needed older actors.

So, Colman has taken over the role of Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy, while Bonham Carter has stepped in as Princess Margaret for Vanessa Kirby. Also playing the new and much older Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth's husband, is Tobias Menzies, who replaces Matt Smith.

"The Crown" season 3 will cover the years 1964 to 1976 of the British Monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in their '50s. This season will also feature their first-born child, Prince Charles (Josh O'Connor), in a romantic relationship with Camilla Shand (Emerald Fennell). Netflix has not yet announced the actual premiere date for the third season.
