A resurfaced comment by President Donald Trump about the FBI searching his "wife's area" at Mar-a-Lago has reignited online speculation about his living arrangements with First Lady Melania Trump, drawing renewed attention to longstanding reports that the couple maintain separate private spaces.

The remark dates back to an Oval Office conversation last year in which Trump reflected on the federal search of his Palm Beach estate. While the discussion focused largely on the FBI investigation into classified documents, a brief reference to Melania Trump has become the focal point of a fresh social media debate months later.

Speaking about the search, Trump said, "They raided my house. They did a big raid. They took away stuff that wasn't pinned down. They raided Mar-a-Lago, and these were bad people we had in our government."

He then added, "They went into my wife's area, and they went into my son [Barron Trump's] area. What they did was a disgrace."

At the time, the comment attracted little attention. But after clips resurfaced online this week, users began dissecting Trump's choice of words, interpreting the phrase "my wife's area" as possible evidence that the president and first lady maintain separate bedrooms or separate living quarters at Mar-a-Lago.

The speculation builds on claims that have circulated for years about the Trumps' private life. Among the most widely cited accounts came from journalist Michael Wolff, whose 2018 book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House alleged that Donald and Melania Trump occupied separate rooms in the White House.

Wolff wrote that Trump had "retreated to his own bedroom - the first time since the Kennedy White House that a presidential couple had maintained separate rooms."

Those claims have long been disputed by Trump allies and have never been publicly confirmed by either Donald or Melania Trump. No official information has been released detailing how the first couple divide private space inside the White House or at Mar-a-Lago.

The renewed interest comes as Melania Trump has offered occasional glimpses into life at the Florida estate through interviews and her documentary project chronicling her return to the White House after Trump's 2025 inauguration.

In the documentary, Melania described Mar-a-Lago as a "refuge from the outside world" and "more than a home." The project highlighted her years raising Barron Trump at the property and portrayed the estate as a central hub of family life.

Public records identify Mar-a-Lago as Melania Trump's primary residence, though she also spends time at Trump Tower in Manhattan and in Washington when official duties require her presence at the White House.

Online discussion intensified after several social media users pointed to the documentary as supporting the idea that Melania maintains her own section of the estate.

One user wrote, "They have separate bedrooms (didn't watch 'Melania' did you?),"

Another posted, "TRUST ME SHE HASN'T SLEPT WITH HIM IN YEARS!"
