AOA's fans can now all breathe a sigh of relief. Seolhyun, whose real name is Kim Seol Hyun, is said to be in a stable condition after collapsing on stage during a performance over the weekend.
The 23-year-old singer-turned-actress took to Instagram to give her fans a positive health update, although she admits to still feeling weak due to colds. She also apologized for making her fellow members, event organizers and fans worry.
"I felt fine right up until I went on stage, but because my condition wasn't good I think I overdid it during the performance," AOA's Seolhyun wrote in an Instagram post, as translated by Soompi. "The event was indoors so it wasn't cold, but in the future, I will dress more warmly... In the future, I will show better performances with a more healthy image," she added.
Seolhyun had been performing with fellow AOA members - Mina (whose real name is Kwon Min Ah), Chanmi (whose real name is Kim Chanmi), Hyejeong (whose real name is Shin Hye Jeong), Yuna (whose real name is Seo Yu Na) and Jimin (whose real name is Shin Ji Min) - had been performing at the Korea University Gymnasium Hwajeong when the incident happened on Saturday, Dec. 15.
In the one-minute video, Seolhyun can be seen visibly ill despite maintaining a smiley face. After performing their hit single "Like a Cat," she barely managed to get up from her kneeling position. She, then, exited the stage with the help of her fellow members.
Seolhyun debuted as a member of AOA in mid-2012. She, then, made her acting debut in the hit family KBS 2TV drama, "My Daughter Seo Young." It was followed by a supporting role in the daily drama "Ugly Alert."
In 2015, she landed her first major role in KBS 2TV's vampire romance, "Orange Marmalade." She was also featured in the action noir film "Gangnam Blues" alongside veteran actors Lee Min Ho and Kim Rae Won.
Her role in the said action noir film gave her a Popular Star Award at the 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards. At the same time, she and co-star Lee Min Ho was selected as promotional ambassadors for "Visit Korea Year," according to The Korea Times.
Moreover, Seolhyun took her talent to the big screen with a supporting role in director Kim Kwang Sik's historical film "The Great Battle" and Won Shin Yun's action thriller film "Memoir of a Murderer."
