Although "Vagabond" has yet to hit the small screen, Suzy Bae seems to be working on her next project. There are multiple reports that Lee Min Ho's ex is tapped as a cast of an upcoming movie next year.
Soompi reported that Suzy might be a part of "Mount Baekdu" (literal title) cast to play the role of Ha Jung Woo's wife. However, the 24-year-old star has yet to confirm the news.
So in response, Suzy's agency, JYP Entertainment, released an official statement about the matter. "Although it is true that she received the offer, it is one of the projects she is reviewing," it confirmed.
"Baekdu Mountain" will tell the story of both North Korea and South Korea's safety/rescue response team members. In the movie, they will try their best to prevent the volcano from erupting as it may cause mass destruction in the two countries.
Ha Jung Woo will play the role of a South Korean agent in "Baekdu Mountain" while Suzy will portray the character of his wife. Other stars that are said to be in the film are Lee Byung Hun as a North Korean agent, Ma Dong Seok as a scientist, and Jeon Hye Jin as a South Korean government official.
"Mount Baekdu" will be produced by "Along with the Gods" producer Kim Hyong Hwa and directed by "A Hard Day" director Lee Hae Joon and Kim Byung Seo. If Suzy accepts the offer, she will start filming in early 2019.
Meanwhile, Business Times recently reported that SBS already gave Suzy's fans a glimpse of her different faces in "Vagabond." The former Miss A member would take on different roles in the series as a National Intelligence Service agent. To support her family, her character as Go Hae Ri will do everything to earn even if she ends up to be a Level 7 civil servant after her father died.
After five years, "Vagabond" will also feature the reunion of Suzy and Lee Seung Gi. The two previously worked together on "Gu Family Book" in 2013. The 31-year-old actor will play the role of Cha Gun, an overly confident stuntman who has 18 black belts from different martial arts.
"Vagabond" will also reunite Lee Seung Gi to his "You're All Surrounded" director, Yoo In Sik. Ki Tae Woong will also join Suzy as her character's National Intelligence Service team leader. The show will be out in 2019 on SBS.
