Fans are now excited to see Song Joong Ki return to the small screen with "Asadal Chronicles" as he leads the show's opening ceremony. Song Hye Kyo's husband will reunite with his other "Descendants of the Sun" co-star, Kim Ji Won, and the two just celebrated their hit drama with a little reunion.
Ahn Bo Hyun recently shared a photo of some of "Descendants of the Sun" reunion, via AllKpop. He was with Song Joong Ki, and Kim Ji Won at the time.
The photo gathered attention because of the "Descendants of the Sun" stars' surprise reunion. Because of that, fans are now more excited to see "Asadal Chronicles," which marked the official start of its filming with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Song Joong Ki, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won, Kim Ok Bin, Kim Eui Sing, and Park Hae Joon recently gathered for "Asadal Chronicles" opening ceremony. The cast and crew also celebrated the completion of their new set's construction, which took eight months to build.
As they started the opening ceremony, the cast wished for "Asadal Chronicles" safe filming. "As many of you helped with building the set and many other things for the drama, I will prepare well with other staff, actors, and our director," Song Joong Ki said, per Soompi. "I will pour all my passion and time into making the best drama."
Jang Dong Gun added that he is proud to work together with the best director, writer, staff members, and actors as they create a new genre of Korean drama with "Asadal Chronicles." Kim Ji Won also said that he is now excited to start the new series' production with his co-stars and other crew.
Also, Kim Ok Bin also disclosed that she is thankful and honored that she joined the cast of "Asadal Chronicles." She promised to do her best to keep her relationship with her co-stars lasts.
To end the opening ceremony, "Asadal Chronicles" production team said that for the past 20 years, Korean viewers had seen different fantasy series based on mythical periods. But, none of it was derived from Korean myths and tales.
So, this is the best time for them to see an ancient story that features their people as its main characters. They also asked everyone to support and watch "Asadal Chronicles."
"Asadal Chronicles" is Song Joong Ki's returning project after taking a hiatus following his marriage with Song Hye Kyo. It will also be his reunion drama with "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Kim Ji Won. The show will air in 2019 on tvN.
