Although BIGBANG's major members remain enlisted, fans still show their support and love to the group. The remaining un-enlisted member of the band, Seungri, received an award at the recent "Thank You Awards" on JTBC's "Idol Room," and talked about his recent conversation with Taeyang and G-Dragon.
Seungri graced "Idol Room" Christmas episode, along with Wanna One, and (G)I-DLE, hosted by Jung Hyung Don and Deffcon. The latter revealed the BIGBANG member is the major contributor who got the first place in viewership ratings.
Jung Hyung Don added Seungri made a series of guest appearances without a group as he is about to become a brand. The host continued to say he successfully surpassed G-Dragon, and he is now "the man of viewership ratings."
According to Soompi, Seungri's viewership ratings hit high when he chose Taeyang as his idol. Talking about his chosen icon, Jung Hyung Don asked the un-enlisted BIGBANG member about his bandmate, who is still serving in the military.
"I recently sent him a text message, and he said the place where he is currently stationed is colder than Russia," Seungri said about Taeyang's new station. "He's never been to Russia, but said that it's colder than Russia."
In a video message for Taeyang, Seungri gave his heartfelt gratitude to the "Good Boy" hitmaker. He was even proud to tell him that he was able to maintain the "No. 1 viewership rating spot" on "Idol Room" this year because of him.
Although there are a lot of idols out there aside from Seungri, he still got the top spot in BIGBANG's name. He even wished Taeyang to do well in the military and good luck to his military service, even though it's "very cold." "I'll see you soon," he said.
Aside from Taeyang, Seungri also talked about G-Dragon. The 28-year-old entrepreneur revealed he saw the 30-year-old rapper at a salon when the latter went out during his military break.
Seungri stated G-Dragon had a haircut as he already grew his hair. However, the "YG Future Strategy Office" star admitted he felt sorry for the King of K-Pop. "He waited to see me for an hour," he unveiled.
G-Dragon had the right to question him why did he need to see him, but he waited for Seungri for one hour instead. He then said the initial seemed to realize in the military who was the most successful person. Thus he wanted to see him. But when they saw each other, the fashion icon told him that although he is a celebrity and he is a soldier, he is still way cooler than him.
HelloKpop reported G-Dragon remains to be the most followed Korean celebrity on Instagram. In the annual Instagram Awards in Korea, the BIGBANG member takes the lead as the most sought-after Korean celebrity with over 16.1 million followers as of December 20. He stays to be on top for five consecutive years.
