Are wedding bells on the horizon for Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx? This is the question lingering in the fans' minds after a report claimed that the former's parents gave the actor their blessing to marry her.

According to the latest issue of the National Enquirer Magazine (via Gossip Cop), Katie Holmes' parents - Kathleen and Martin Holmes - have reservations about her relationship with Jamie Foxx.

Despite that, the 51-year-old actor and singer did everything he can to prove that his intention is true and after a few years of trying, he finally won them over during the actress' birthday dinner in New York City last December 2018.

"Jamie [Foxx] was nervous... Not the least because Katie's parents have long been suspicious of his motives and the fact that he was never even engaged to his two baby mamas (Connie Kline and Kristin Grannis)," an unnamed insider told National Enquirer Magazine.

The insider added: "[However], Jamie assured them that he has nothing but love for their daughter and he will honor that once they're man and wife... Getting Katie's folks to approve was a big deal."

Following the magazine's claims, speculations are rife that Jamie Foxx will soon pop the question to Katie Holmes. Some even noted that the two would allegedly tie the knot in Paris this coming winter season.

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes' respective kids - Corrine Foxx, Annalise Bishop, and Suri Cruise - from their previous partners will also play a big role in the upcoming wedding. As for their entourage, the two will reportedly choose those individuals who are close to both of them.

However, there is no evidence that supports National Enquirer Magazine's claims. Gossip Cop pointed out that Katie Holmes' father was not present at her 40th birthday dinner in New York City last December 2018 at all. A different source close to the "Logan Lucky" star also debunked the report and stressed that the entire narrative is made-up.

As of press time, there is no word yet on Katie Holmes' next project. Jamie Foxx, on the other hand, is busy with the post-production phase of his upcoming comedy-drama film "All-Star Weekend."

He will also star as Walter McMillian, an innocent man who gets imprisoned for murder, in Destin Daniel Cretton's upcoming biographical drama film, "Just Mercy," as per Variety. He will be joined by Michael B. Jordan as Attorney Bryan Stevenson and Brie Larson as Eva Ansley.
