The 50-year-old star said it was a "huge, wonderful goodbye" for all of the show's cast and crew, who had the privileged to know they were filming their final episode.

When CBS ordered "Elementary" Season 7, everyone knew it would be the last. So, they would surely work out to tie all the loose ends when the final episode airs.
"A lot of parties came together and talked about their positions on the show - both in terms of business and in terms of creative," CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl said. "We all decided that this was an opportune time to say goodbye to a show that has been very, very good to us."
The show's creator and showrunner Rob Doherty, on the other hand, teased "Elementary" Season 7 would have a "bit of a time jump." He continued to say that before the show comes to an end, he wanted to move forward in time with its characters.
Doherty revealed they took inspiration from the books for "Elementary" Season 7. He disclosed that there was a period where Sherlock and Watson were apart, and he believed it would be a perfect scene for the show.
Fans would see that scenario featured in "Elementary" Season 7, which would set the finale in a "not so distant future," but still telling a bigger story. The show's final season will air this spring on CBS.
