Fans are now wondering what will happen in "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12, titled "The Last Link," after a chemical weapon emerged. However, the new episode will go on a different adventure, and someone is about to appear to accompany Nicholas Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) on a road trip.

"An old family friend, Army Corporal John Sydney (Dabney Coleman), beseeches Gibbs to join him on a road trip to search for a missing military I.D. bracelet," "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12's official synopsis read, per CarterMatt. "Also, a Navy Lieutenant in NCIS protective custody is poisoned by an infamous drug dealer."

Dabney Coleman's guest appearance in "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12 seems very interesting. The 87-year-old may be one of the actors that Mark Harmon looks up to at the beginning of his career as an actor. Aside from David McCallum, who has been a part of the show since it started, there are only a few actors who saw Harmon began in the business.

So, Dabney Coleman's stint on "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12 may feature an "introspective story" for Mark Harmon's role as Leroy Jethro Gibbs. John Sydney may help Gibbs to reflect and reminisce his past.

Aside from that, they are also set to solve another intriguing case in "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12. With the death of a Navy Lieutenant due to poison, the agents will surely delve their heads into this situation to solve the case.

Rocky Carroll will return to his directorial seat for "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12. Also, fans have to wait and see if Dabney Coleman's character will return for another episode after "The Last Link." Knowing how the long-running series works, it loves to return its guest stars in one episode or another.

Meanwhile, Hidden Remote reported that "NCIS" Season 16's midseason premiere intrigued fans when they learned the reason behind the Secretary of Defense's stay in the office. Also, they got confused when Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Torres got arrested for investigating a murder case.

"NCIS" Season 16's midseason premiere started with a conference that Torres and Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) attended to. When they left the talks, they found themselves inside a ballroom with a lot of dead bodies.

They soon learned that the 20 dead bodies were for a medical conference. However, they counted it as 21. The NCIS team believed someone dumped a dead body in the ballroom to hide a murder case. But Torres and Bishop didn't let it slide and started the investigation in "NCIS" Season 16's midseason premiere.

They soon found out that the dead body had disintegrated lungs. Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover) then learned that it was destroyed by chlorine gas. Hence, someone used a chemical weapon to kill this victim. As the NCIS team manage to solve this case, there would be another one they have to investigate in "NCIS" Season 16 Episode 12, "The Last Link," on Tuesday, January 15, on CBS.
