"Outlander" Season 4 is two episodes away before it opens the door for Season 5. Episode 12, titled "Providence," seems to pave the way to an intense season finale with the entangled lives of Brianna (Sophie Skelton), Roger (Richard Rankin), Jamie (Sam Heughan), and Claire (Caitriona Balfe).
"Brianna confronts a violent figure from her past in an attempt to cope with her trauma," "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12's official synopsis read. "Roger befriends a fellow captive and endeavors to escape the Mohawk Village, while Fergus and Marsali plan a dangerous mission."
In "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12 trailer, Roger can be seen getting out of breath while introducing himself to a priest, who is another captive of the Mohawks. According to Town & Country Mag, the cleric is maybe Father Alexandre from the book series. He already knows who Roger is and said he is the man that they have called "dogface."
"I wouldn't have known it, but then I don't even know where I am," Roger said. The priest then told Roger their whereabouts. They are now in a village called Shadow Lake in the province of New York. Can Roger escape the Mohawks now that he knows where their location is in "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12?
"Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12 trailer also gave a glimpse on Jamie's letter for his daughter. To recall, Brianna hated her father for beating Roger and accusing her of "bedding a man with lust" without understanding she got raped.
However, things may change when Brianna finally opens the letter in "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12, per Meawww. Jamie told his daughter that he might not see her again. "I've been thinking about your question whether or not revenge would heal the wrong done to you," Jamie said as the scene pans to the Frasers rescuing Roger from the Mohawks in New York. He then advised her daughter not to do it.
As the voice of Jamie continuously sounds as Brianna reads his letter, Roger can be seen tied in chains inside what-seemed-to-be a prison. "Your loving father," the note ended. Later, Fergus (César Domboy) is marching with a group in "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12.
Roger will be seen running in the woods again while Murtagh Fitzgibbons's (Duncan Lacroix) plan to capture Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) seems to fail as he ends in police custody in "Outlander" Season 4 Episode 12. The trailer then ends revealing a Mohawk is going to hit Roger. The show's penultimate episode will air on Sunday, January 20, at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
