Scott Grayson, a former chief sales officer for R3, joined forces with blockchain startup AlphaPoint. As of coming on board, according to Coin Desk, he will be appointed a senior vice president. He will also be heading the institutional sales department, where he will be working with large traditional institutions.

These institutions may include but are not limited to, banks, exchanges, brokerages, and private equity firms. These share something in common with the advances in the blockchain, they may want to create more efficient processes by tokenizing their assets. It would be a big help, especially if those assets include real estate, securities, private equity, and loans that are shared globally.

Grayson had already started with the process of talking to these institutions. When asked by Coin Desk, the former R3 sales officer said that he was excited with the opportunity which the position had given him. As for AlphaPoint, he said that he believed the company's policy, which was to create more liquid assets and encourage movements in the markets.

Upon joining, Scott Grayson brings with him a quarter of a lifetime's experience in sales leadership and heading teams involved in financial services. Grayson, as reported by Finextra, will also be tasked with helping businesses with automated software that makes it easier to create 'digital assets' like tokens that represent real estate assets, equities, or debt.

Aside from R3, which is also a blockchain company, Grayson brings his experience from companies such as Algorithmics, Charles River Development, NumeriX, and SAP. Among his numerous experiences include stints as an equities and options trader and banker with the Bankers Trust Company (Deutsche Bank) and Bank of America, doing risk management for products and services, as well as a sales and marketing position in cash management.

Salil Donde, AlphaPoint CEO, was truly happy to have the former R3 man on board. The CEO further pointed out that Grayson's experience will be of big help, but that the relationship he built over the years with industry players was the real addition to the company.

This isn't a first for AlphaPoint. Its CEO was hiring from Global Information Services, where Donde held the position of executive vice president. Kapil Rathi, its global head of trading markets, was a former head of equity options with Cboe. Clearly, the leadership at AlphaPoint has a keen eye for talent. It's no surprise that someone like Scott Grayson joined the ambitious blockchain company.
