It looks like Jo Byung Gyu is now a sought-after actor after being cast in the upcoming tvN drama, "Asadal Chronicles," only a day after his casting in "He Is Psychometric." The rising actor who get famous in "Sky Castle" would be joining Song Joong Ki in the latter's comeback project.

tvN confirmed Jo Byung Gyu's coming to "Asadal Chronicles." Aside from Song Joong Ki, he would also join top caliber actors like Jang Dong Gun, Kim Ji Won, Kim Ok Bin, Kim Eui Sung, and Park Hae Joon, per Soompi.

"Asadal Chronicles" is a fantasy drama set in the mythical city of Asadal, the capital city of the Gojoseon kingdom. Jo Byung Gyu will play the role of Satenic. Although tvN has yet to reveal official information about his character, he will reportedly be seen in the latter part of the series.

"Asadal Chronicles" will tell the story of love, conflict, and harmony between the residents of Asadal. As the city continues to grow, it will give birth to a hero, played by Song Joong Ki. Heroes and villains will work together to fight for war and love to create the perfect empire.

In no time, fans will once again see Song Joong Ki back to the small screen after almost three years of hiatus. In a video uploaded on Blossom Entertainment's Facebook page in December 2018, Song Hye Kyo's husband talked about his returning project, "Asadal Chronicles," via Business Times.

Song Joong Ki revealed that "Asadal Chronicles" already started its production on December 5, 2018. However, the entire cast and staff members began their preparations earlier in the year.

"With all the preparations done and filming underway, more than half of December has already passed," Song Joong Ki said about "Asadal Chronicles' filming. "I think time goes by very quickly. We're working hard on the drama." He then vowed to do his best to show fans the best version of himself.

Song Joong Ki will play the role of Eun Seom in "Asadal Chronicles." He is a cursed man born with fate to bring disaster to Asadal. So to save her son, his mother tries her best to keep him away from the city. But after a couple of years, Eun Seom returns to conquer Asadal and succeed to develop the city into an empire.

tvN has yet to announce "Asadal Chronicles" official release date, but it is expected to be out sometime this year. Song Joong Ki even revealed it could be released in May.
