Other personalities that fans will see in the show include Ben Daniels as Anthony Armstong-Jones, former Outlander actor Tobias Menzies as Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.
It was previously revealed that Menzies will take over the role of Matt Smith as Prince Philip in The Crown Season 3 -- and the Doctor Who star was not able to contain his happiness after the declaration was made. In an interview with the Observer, Smith described Menzies as a "fantastic actor" and added that the latter was "the perfect casting" for the role.
Smith revealed he decided to give up his role, so he could focus more on his role in the Doctor Who series. Menzies, for his part, stated that he is excited about his new gig in The Crown Season 3. "I'm thrilled to be joining the new cast of The Crown and to be working with Olivia Colman again. I look forward to becoming her 'liege man of life and limb,'" he said.
Meanwhile, other reports suggested that Camilla Parker-Bowles will be introduced in the forthcoming third installment. For starters, Camilla is the current partner of Prince Charles whose former wife, Princess Diana, died in a tragic car crash in 1997. Emerald Fennell will portray the role in The Crown Season 3. Because of Camilla's addition to the series, fans are now wondering if the new season will also feature the alleged "feud." However, no confirmation has been made if the rumored "spat" will be included to the plot.
The Netflix series is, reportedly, in production mode now. It was also revealed that the series' third and fourth installments would be filmed back to back. No official release date for The Crown Season 3 is revealed up to this writing. But, rumors have it that it is likely to be dropped within this year.
