Is a Dawson's Creek reboot in the works? Rumors have it that a new version of the teen drama series, which aired from 1998 to 2003 on a defunct network, is in development and it might star Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise.
An insider from the printed magazine NW allegedly revealed that there have been some discussions about a potential Dawson's Creek reboot with the show's original stars. The source went on to say that the project may be a one-off special and Suri might likely play the daughter of Joey (Holmes) and Pacey (Joshua Jackson).
But Gossip Cop debunked the rumors of a Dawson's Creek reboot that should debut Suri's acting career. A rep from Holmes' camp apparently told the publication that Tom Cruise's 12-year-old daughter isn't doing any project for Hollywood.
The Dawson's Creek reboot rumors recently sparked because Michelle Williams, who also got her start in that show as Jen Lindley, said she's ready for it. The actress was promoting her new show, Fosse/Verdon, during the Television Critics Association panel when she was asked about her thoughts on the reboot, as per Daily Mail.
Williams has always been on board a reunion because she said she had the most fun working on Dawson's Creek as a newcomer. However, it's going to be a challenge bringing her character back since Jen died on the show.
But show creator Kevin Williamson said in 2018 that there is no chance for a reboot at all. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner admitted that they have been asked to do a reunion. However, he doesn't how that would be possible since the show existed at a time when social media and digital gadgets weren't basic parts of life.
"The finale was such a beautiful moment in time and the show was always meant to be a nostalgia piece," Williamson said. "Let it stay there and live in its nostalgia and its nostalgic universe."
Meanwhile, Holmes recently shared a new photo of her daughter on her Instagram. Although the celebrity mom rarely posts Suri's images to protect her privacy, this was pretty special because it showed her daughter with Tom having a great time basking in the snow with a friend.
Holmes is currently in snowy Vancouver to film The Boy 2 and it looks like Suri tagged along. Not in sight, however, is the actress' rumored boyfriend, Jamie Foxx, as this time was purely a mother and daughter outing.
