This Is Us will be on a hiatus for a week but when it returns with a new episode on Tuesday, March 5, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC, be prepared with boxes of tissues yet again. This Is Us Season 3 Episode 14 will circle back to the twins, particularly, Kevin (played by Justin Hartley) and Kate (Chrissy Metz).
The promo for This Is Us season 3 episode 14 hints that there are more problems ahead for Kevin and Kate. He's secretly dealing with an alcoholism relapse, while Kate is shown lying on a stretcher as she is rushed to the hospital for a potential pregnancy complication.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly in November 2018, Metz said that Kate and her husband Toby (played by Chris Sullivan) are going to have an "unconventional parenting situation." The actress also said that Kate's storyline this season has challenged her and made her both scared and excited since Metz believe it's something that hasn't been done on TV yet.
Could Kate and Toby welcome their baby earlier than anticipated? Will the newborn have complications so their parenting becomes unconventional?
Metz did hint that Kate's baby might be named Jack since it was revealed in previous episodes that she's carrying a son. "Everyone, of course, is going for Jack, which I think is so special," the actress said during the Television Critics Association press tour. "And it's such a cute name. Also not overused, which I think is perfect."
The official episode synopsis of This Is Usseason 3 episode 14, titled The Graduates, states that Kevin keeps something from Zoe and it's likely his alcohol relapse. The flashback scenes will also take viewers to the Big Three's graduation, where they no longer have their father around.
Meanwhile, after This Is Us season 3 episode 14 airs, the show will have four more episodes to close season 3. NBC has not yet renewed the show but Hartley said the finale is a set up for what's to come next season.
Speaking with TV Line, Hartley said that people might be frustrated yet again when This Is Us season 3 leaves more questions than answers, as it always does. At the same time, however, he assured viewers that the episode will also bring satisfaction knowing where it's going to lead to.
The writing team on This Is Us have all six seasons mapped out. They already know how the show ends for each of the characters and it's all up to NBC to renew the series.
