It will be a while before viewers get to watch Dame Joan Collins on Hawaii Five-0 season 9. But her guest appearance in the 18th episode, which airs on Friday, March 8, at 10:00 p.m. on CBS, is something to look forward to.

Collins, 85, will play Amanda Savage in Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 18. According to the episode synopsis, Amanda is a famous romance novelist who is also quite high maintenance, and she will temporarily make life like hell for her ex-son-in-law, Danny (played by Scott Caan.)

Apparently, Amanda is visiting Hawaii for her book tour, and she taps the help of Danny and his partner Steve (played by Alex O'Loughlin) as her security team at the last minute.  While Amanda doesn't share a good history with her former son-in-law, she'll be warmer to Steve, and it's going to cause friction between the partners.

The Hollywood legend filmed her guest appearance on Hawaii Five-O season 9 episode 18 a few months ago. She shared a behind-the-scenes photo with the show's lead stars last January on Twitter and said that she loved being in the series.

Collins is best known for her role as the intimidating Alexis Carrington in the 1980s primetime drama series Dynasty. But she has been doing movies since the 1950s. Her most recent guest appearance on TV, before Hawaii Five-O, was in American Horror Story.

According to Deadlinea TV series about Collins' younger years is in development with Sony. It will focus on her life with her equally famous sister, Jackie. It will chart their teenage years all the way to their success in Hollywood in the 1980s.

Meanwhile, Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episodes 16 and 17 will air back-to-back on Friday, Feb. 22, at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., respectively. Episode 16, titled Hapai ke kuko, hanau ka hew, will tackle the murder of a salesperson in a beauty company's pyramiding scheme.

Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 17, titled E'ao lu'au a kualima, will focus on Junior (played by Beulah Koale) who encounters ex-girlfriend Layla during an investigation. She learns that the father of her child is involved in a bank heist and homicide. Incidentally, this episode will be directed by O'Loughlin so he might not have a lot of camera time in this installment.

CBS has not yet announced the renewal of Hawaii Five-0 for season 10, but it will likely earn another year of run as it still averages seven million viewers a week.
