Many fans were shocked when Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Clint Bondad confirmed their breakup. The beauty queen and her former boyfriend had been together for six years. While Catriona made it clear that the split was a mutual decision, speculations have it that Kapamilya actor Sam Milby could have contributed to the breakup.

Early this year, Catriona Gray and Sam Milby sparked dating rumors after two were spotted in a farm in Tanay, Rizal. Photos and a video of the two in the said location made rounds online. The snaps were, instantly, picked up by various gossip sites, which triggered some fans to attach meaning to them.

However, Cornerstone Entertainment president and manager Erickson Raymundo was quick to debunk the malicious rumors. He revealed that the meeting of Catriona Gray and Sam Milby was spontaneous since they were among those invited to visit the place. Erickson furthered that Clint Bondad's former ladylove was with her family at the time and other friends, aside from Catriona and Sam, were invited.

"During a very brief break from her stay here in Manila I invited Ms. Catriona Gray and her family to visit our farm in Tanay as I have promised them even before the Miss Universe Pageant," Erickson revealed. He added that fans should not put any meaning to the photographs because Catriona and Sam are acquaintances. As a matter of fact, they are also a part of the same bible study group and attend the same church. With Erickson's statements, it can be concluded that the Halik actor is, definitely, not the reason behind Catriona and Clint Bondad's split.

In fact, in an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, Catriona Gray said that she and Clint Bondad were not on speaking terms even before the pageant. "It was really hard going through the competition with that happening all at the same time but I had to keep reminding myself that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Catriona told the Philippine King of Talk. "So it was a struggle but you know I see that he's doing so well now and I don't wanna talk about it now," the beauty queen went on.

Recently, Catriona Gray met Indonesia president Joko Widodo. The 25-year-old Filipino-Australia beauty paid a courtesy call to Widodo after she crowned the new set of winners of the Puteri Indonesia competition. In videos that circulated online, the ex-girlfriend of Clint Bondad was seen shaking the hands of the Indonesian president, who was captivated by Catriona's charm.
