TLC has renewed 90 Day Fiancé for season 7 last January. The confirmation came at the end of season 6, but as soon as this was announced, there were reports that production would be delayed.

According to Page Six, there were hitches to the start of production for 90 Day Fiancé season 7. At that time, the U.S. government had a shutdown, which meant that there were no government agencies open to handle the visa and paperwork of the couples involved in the series.

A source also told E! News that there has been a delay in the casting department since they can't bring in the foreign partners to the U.S. "Without a locked-down cast, we can't film," the source said.

TLC did not comment on this speculation. However, since the government shutdown has passed, it's fair to speculate that they've got the paperwork all settled. So, is 90 Day Fiancé finally filming season 7? The answer to this question may come from an unlikely source.

90 Day Fiancé season 6 cast members Ashley Martson and Jay Smith have been posting on their social media pages that they might be filming the new season. Were they asked back to the show for season 7 or are have they decided to move on and join the spinoff, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Martson had to clarify via InTouch Weekly that the images she posted were throwback photos from the time they were part of 90 Day Fiancéseason 6. She said that she and her husband are no longer part of any show because she has her lupus health issues to take care of.

The reality TV star also confirmed that they were initially cast for the spinoff. However, they decided to quit the 90 Day Fiancé franchise altogether because they were no longer comfortable with the inconsistencies of their story on TLC versus what's happening in real life. Allegedly, the producers of 90 Day Fiancé wanted them to follow a storyline that made them lie to the public.

But fans of the show doubt Martson's explanations as she has been willing to fake things in her life for the series. Even her crowdfunded money to pay for her hospitalization has been questioned by fans who doubted the real status of her health.

Meanwhile, TLC has confirmed that the spinoff 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 4 is coming soon. Fans speculate that this installment will begin its run this April.
