It looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see Yato (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya/Jason Liebrecht), Hiyori Iki (Maaya Uchida/Bryn Apprill) and Yukine (Yuki Kaji/Micah Solusod) back in action as there is no word yet as to whether Noragami Season 3 is a go.
Written by Adachitoka, Noragami follows the adventures of an average middle school student, Hiyori Iki, whose ordinary life turns upside down when she was involved in a bus accident while trying to protect a stranger. The incident causes her soul to suddenly slip out of her body.
She also becomes an Ayakashi, a person who can travel in two parallel worlds - the Near Shore, where normal humans and creatures reside, and the Far Shore, where demons and human souls wander.
Amid her journey, she crosses path with a homeless god, Yato, and his Regalia (weapon) named Yukine. Yato helps those in need of only 5 yen. The money will, then, be used to build himself a big and lavish temple where his followers can worship him.
While the trio continues to kill off corrupted spirits, Noragami Season 2 dived deeper into Yato and Hiyori Iki's relationship. The two went on a date in the most famous theme park in the city, Capypa Land.
There, they watched a parade together. The happy moment, however, was interrupted when Yato noticed Hiyori Iki's sadness. It was, then, revealed that the theme park was the place where the latter was unwillingly kissed in the past.
All the burning questions will soon be answered if Noragami returns for Season 3. As per The Cinemaholic, the story of the next installment will revolve around Yato's true identity and dark past. It will also follow his one-of-a-kind journey to becoming a "God of Fortune."
It will also see the return of several characters, including Bishamonten (Miyuki Sawashiro/Elizabeth Maxwell), Kofuku (Aki Toyosaki/Alexis Tipton), Kazuma (Jun Fukuyama/Eric Vale), Nora (Rie Kugimiya/Lauren Landa), Kuraha (Kazuhiko Inoue/Greg Dulcie), Daikoku (Daisuke Ono/Ian Sinclair), and Rabou (Takahiro Sakurai/Mike McFarland).
As for the release date, there is no official word out yet. But speculations are rife that Noragami Season 3 would hit the small screen before the year ends or in early 2020. It is worth noting that the first and second seasons premiered on Jan. 5, 2014, and Oct. 2, 2015, respectively.
