Fans should brace themselves for another mind-boggling episode. Simon Lewis (Alberto Rosende) and Isabelle "Izzy" Lightwood (Emeraude Toubia) will be teaming up for a special task in the upcoming episode of Shadowhunters Season 3.
Before that, here is a quick recap of what happened in the latest episode of Shadowhunters Season 3. Episode 16, titled "Stay With Me," featured Clarissa "Clary" Fairchild's (Katherine McNamara) endeavors to get rid of the rune binding her to Jonathan Morgenstern (Luke Baines).
So Clarissa "Clary" Fairchild summoned the Queen of Edom, Lilith (Anna Hopkins), and asked for her help. She, then, informed them that the only way to sever the connection between the Morgenstern siblings is by using Michael's sword named Glorious.
Glorious' blade was imbued with heavenly fire, which gave it the power to purge demonic energy. Unfortunately, the sword has since been destroyed. Thus, there's no hope left for Clarissa "Clary" Fairchild.
With everyone still digesting the revelation, Jonathan Morgenstern suddenly appeared and attempted to kill Lilith once and for all. Luckily, Clarissa "Clary" Fairchild managed to portal him into the Institute's prison.
The episode also saw Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario) doing everything he can to secure Magnus Bane's (Harry Shum Jr.) survival. He even visited the current High Warlock of Brooklyn, Lorenzo Rey (Javier Muñoz), and begged him to reverse the damage.
Lorenzo Rey was not exactly eager to lend a hand until Alec Lightwood remarked that Magnus Bane is his world. He, then, rescinded Magnus Bane's magic - saving his life in the process.
Now, the spoilers and early predictions for Shadowhunters Season 3 episode 17 suggest that Simon Lewis and Isabelle "Izzy" Lightwood will be working together on a secret task since they want to know what Clave is hiding from them.
"Simon and Izzy team up on a secret mission to figure out what the Clave is hiding," the official Shadowhunters Season 3 episode 17 synopsis reads (via Carter Matt). "Meanwhile, Clary is conflicted about Jonathan as the Shadowhunters try to get answers," it added.
Shadowhunters Season 3 episode 17 will also feature the fan-favorite characters, including Jace Herondale (Dominic Sherwood), Simon Lewis (Alberto Rosende), Alec Lightwood (Matthew Daddario), Maia Roberts (Alisha Wainwright), Luke Garroway (Isaiah Mustafa), Maryse Lightwood (Nicola Correia-Damude), Meliorn (Jade Hassoune), Cain (Pasha Ebrahimi), Seelie Queen (Kimberly-Sue Murray), Praetor Scott (James McGowan), and Catarina Loss (Sophia Walker).
