The finale episode of This Is Us Season 3 has only just come out, but fans already want to know if there is going to be the fourth installment. Here's what we know about the future of the Pearson family.
Nothing official has been announced yet regarding This Is Us renewal, but many believed that NBC would pick up the comedy-drama television series for Season 4. It is worth noting that creator Dan Fogelman had the first four seasons of the show mapped out ever since he first pitched the pilot.
The next installment of This Is Us will all be about new beginnings and restarts. Rebecca Malone Pearson's (Mandy Moore) father will also play a significant role in the storyline moving forward.
"Rebecca's father is going to become a prominent part of the show," This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman said at the PaleyFest's final night in Hollywood, as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. He, however, did not share any other details about the new character.
"Our world is going to expand a little bit in a really interesting way," Dan Fogelman further teased. "Where we're starting the season [next year] is as ambitious as we've been in a storytelling way," he added.
In addition to that, Dan Fogelman also hinted that This Is Us Season 4 will feature the early days of Rebecca Malone Pearson and Jack Pearson's (Milo Ventimiglia) relationship following their road trip to California.
It will also see Bethany "Beth" Pearson (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall Kenneth Pearson (Sterling K. Brown) working through their marital issues for the sake of their children - Tess Pearson (Eris Baker), Annie Pearson (Faithe Herman) and Deja Andrews (Lyric Ross)
This Is Us Season 4 will also see the return of fan-favorite characters such as Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz), Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley), Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan), Miguel Rivas (Jon Huertas), Zoe Baker (Melanie Liburd), Tess Pearson (Eris Baker), Annie Pearson (Faithe Herman), Deja (Lyric Ross), Madison (Caitlin Thompson), Dr. Gail Jasper (Sumalee Montano), Solomon Brown (Rob Morgan), Hien (Porter Duong) and Stanley Pearson (Peter Onorati).
As for the release date, This Is Us Season 4 could premiere towards the end of September, as per Town & Country based on its predecessors' air date. It can be recalled that the show's Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3 premiered on Sept. 20, 2016, Sept. 26, 2017, and Sept. 25, 2018, respectively.
