Freeform already confirmed it had renewed Grown-ish for season 3. The series is currently airing its second season, but many fans are excited to find out on what will happen on the third installment. Here's what we know so far about Grown-ish season 3 including its possible release date, cast, plot, as well as other details.

Grown-ish season2 is currently on episode 11, but since the show has gained many viewers, Freeform has decided to renew it for the third season. The series is a spin-off of Kenya Barris' Black-ish, an ABC family comedy. In May 2017, the network initially announced the first season of the show and the pilot episode aired in January 2018.

Then on January 18, Freeform announced Grown-ish was renewed for a second season, while the renewal of the third installment was announced in on February 5, 2019. Based on the release dates of the preceding seasons, it's safe to assume that Grown-ish season 3 will likely arrive in January 2020. It's unclear how many episodes it will have, but some rumors claim it will consist of 20 episodes.

As for the cast, we can also expect all the main cast to return in season three such as Yara Shahidi (as Zoey Johnson), Deon Cole (Professor Charlie Telphy), Halle Bailey (Skylar Forster), Chloe Bailey (Jazlyn Forster), Jordan Buhat (Vivek Shah), Emily Arlook (Nomi Segal), Francia Raisa (Analisa "Ana" Patricia Torres), and Trevor Jackson (Aaron Jackson).

Grown-ish follows the story of the eldest Johnson daughter Zoey as she navigates her college life. The series focuses on stories about what millennial students are dealing today, including drugs, sex, as well as political and relationship problems. The plot of Grown-ish season 3 is still unknown, but it would probably continue dealing with these issues.

Freeform President Tom Ascheim said the shows on their network are "uncompromising" and "bullish" regarding what's possible especially when young adults become empowered to be themselves. He added their programs aim to achieve what young adults wanted to voice out and the things that define them, as well as their generation.

Grown-ish is produced by ABC Signature Studios, while Barris serves as an executive producer along with E. Brian Dobbins, Helen Sugland, Laurence Fishburne, Anthony Anderson, Craig Doyle, Jenifer Rice-Genzuk Henry, and Barris, Julie Bean. Meanwhile, Grown-ish season 2 episode 12 will return on June 5. Freeform noted the second half of the season would continue exploring some important topics, such as academic scandal, cultural appropriation, mental health, and more.
