Onshore Outsourcing, an IT company, is reportedly moving into the building left when Angelina College left Crockett, Texas, effectively opening a new door for job opportunities in the sleepy Houston county city.
According to the company's very own website, Online Outsourcing is presently working to grow itself a highly skilled IT workforce based in, and working for, rural communities. As of now, the company also operates four other facilities, all of which are located across Missouri and Georgia.
Formerly a state school at Crockett, leaders at Crockett ISID are reportedly looking forward to the future of the recently purchased building, what with all of the new job opportunities it will be bringing to the city.
According to John Emrich, who's an Assistant Superintendent with Crockett ISD, ""Getting students prepare for the things that we do know are here and that kind of skills that will adapt to like their job market changes, they have the skills, they'll be able to adapt and grow with whatever those positions are." He then added that the upcoming open positions in the company will probably go to students at Crockett ISD, seeing as it's heading in the direction of technology and IT, which is what one of the campus programs specialize on.
He added, "Well right now that has been directed mainly towards the traditional AG areas. We have a pretty good welding program."
At the moment, Emrich says that the university is preparing to eventually partner with Onshore Outsourcing to further develop their IT field, working together to train and educate the next generation of students that will soon be part of the city's workforce.
According to James Gentry, economic development director for Crockett, "The employment opportunities were dwindling over the last 10 or 12 years. And hopefully, we're trying to change that paradigm in such a way to bring opportunity back to allow people to enjoy their community as well as work inside the community."
Gentry also said that by the end of the month, renovations for the building will be started. He also added that the company also provides sufficient training for their current employees to better prepare them for the workload.
Services by the IT Company include data and infrastructure services, application development and support, and manual and automated quality assurance testing.
