Mr. Robot season 4 is currently filming in New York and people have confirmed spotting stars like Rami Malek (as Elliot) and Christian Slater (as Mr. Robot) on the streets during the production. Former Shameless actress Emmy Rossum was also seen during the filming in an unexpected role.

According to Digital SpyRossum was seen among a group of carolers singing on the street during the filming of Mr. Robot season 4. Malek and Slater walked right in front of them and Rossum had no other interaction with the actors but to sing with her group.

Rossum's cameo doesn't come as a surprise to fans of the series who are aware that the actress is married to Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. The couple will soon be launching the miniseries they put together based on the life of 1980s pop culture icon Angelyne.

Page Six also confirmed that Mr. Robot season 4 has been filming a Christmas scene in a Nomad restaurant with 100 extras and lots of glittering Christmas lights. Production went all out with this set up for the final season of the series.

In August 2018, Esmail announced that Mr. Robot season 4 would be it's last. However, the culminating season will be stretched to 12 episodes, instead of the usual eight episodes, to tie everything together.

"[We] didn't want to say goodbye, but we ultimately have too much respect for Elliot's journey to extend past its inevitable ending," Esmail revealed in the statement. "Therefore, season four will serve as the final chapter of the Mr. Robot story."

Meanwhile, fresh off his win for Oscar Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody, Malek teased that Mr. Robot season 4's ending left him shocked the first time he heard Esmail's plans. He described what will happen as "very, very climactic" and admitted he would miss his character after the series ends.

Mr. Robot is about a genius hacker and cyber security engineer named Elliot who's also dealing with mental health issues like depression and paranoia. He has an alter-ego who has been sabotaging his activities with his underground hacker group that's bent on destroying the firm that they worked for.

Filming for the fourth season started last November and work on the production will continue until the spring. USA Network has not yet revealed the final season's release date, but it could be expected to debut in the fall, as with its other seasons.

Mr. Robotalso stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, and Martin Wallstrom. The series was critically lauded and received a few Emmy recognition, especially in its first season.
