Chicago Fire season 7 will not have new episodes for the next two weeks. NBC has scheduled the show to return with a fresh episode on Wednesday, April 24, at 9:00 p.m.
Upon its return, however, Chicago Fire season 7 will feature a boy who has been hiding inside the firehouse. The teaser revealed that the fearful and traumatized stowaway could be hiding from someone in authority.
However, the man he feared may be one of the men on Firehouse 51 or the police station next door as the teaser hinted of a figure appearing with a gun in his hand. Emily (played by Annie Ilonzeh), however, is with the boy and while she didn't appear to be shocked to see the man behind her, her face indicated fear as well.
Meanwhile, Chicago Fire season 7 episode 18, which aired last Wednesday, April 3, featured three storylines. Chief Boden (played by Eamonn Walker) recognized the woman they saved from being locked up in her own house and it was an old girlfriend from high school.
Donna (played by Melissa Ponzio) appeared at a stressful time in Boden's family life, but there was more to her predicament at home that the firemen had to focus on. Donna's son, who had an abusive streak, was the one who locked her up and caused the fire in her house.
Boden helped Donna get her son to rehab but this also opened up a new understanding for him and his family, especially his relationship with his child. He went home that day embracing his family.
In another storyline, Cruz (played by Joe Minoso) received a commendation from Halstead (played by Jesse Lee Soffer) for helping Chicago PD, which aired in the last crossover. Halstead also informed him that there would be a ceremony. Only, Cruz didn't tell his fellow firemen on Chicago Fire about this milestone and instead said that Halstead was there to remind him of his overdue parking tickets.
Earlier, Cruz received a scolding from Severide (played by Taylor Kinney) for some equipment he misplaced in Chicago Fire. But during his ceremony, Severide and Brett (played by Kara Killmer) were in the audience cheering him on, and that made the fireman's day.
The last storyline involved Stella (played by Miranda Rae Mayo) tracking down a homeless man. She needed to retrieve a mug she gave him because it was the lucky charm for Hermann (played by David Eigenberg).
Stella also finally had an inkling of Severide's real feelings for her. He admitted this to Emily, who told him he should either back this up or let Stella move on. However, Severide skipped his planned meet with Stella and viewers will find out what caused his absence in Chicago Fire season 7 episode 19.
