Archer season 10 will put the gang in outer space. It's not the first time they have done a sci-fi setting, but this will be pretty special because there will be tributes to Star Trek and Alien.
Executive producers Matt Thompson and Casey Willis confirmed the sci-fi twist in press interviews. The first episode of the season will be a tribute to Alien, while there will also be episodes inspired by Star Trek or references to Battlestar Galactica. The gang on Archer season 10 will also follow in the trails of Firefly.
"It's a little bit of that rebel crew that's been out there just trying to make money and survive on their own, and they're done, tired of it," Thompson said.
Keen fans of the series might even spot an Easter egg for The Orville. Archer season 10 will feature Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) and Lana (voiced by Aisha Tyler) as a divorced couple who work as co-captains of their ship, which is similar to the premise of The Orville.
Meanwhile, the other characters on Archer season 10 will also assume new roles to fit the space theme. Mallory (voiced by Jessica Walter) will be the artificial intelligence on the spaceship, while Cheryl (voiced by Judy Greer) will assume as the hotshot pilot. However, Cheryl does not particularly like her job and will be very bored by it despite being so skilled at flying.
Series creator Adam Reed's character, Ray, will play a courtesan from a different galaxy while Dr. Krieger will be an android. Pam (voiced by Amber Nash), on the other hand, will be an alienoid in Archer season 10 and characters from the previous seasons will also be featured as aliens or some other barely recognizable entities.
Admittedly, this season will have sci-fi fans tripping out. However, much of what viewers love about the show will still be present despite the different setting and the different realm. The main characters will still be the same vicious characters.

The producers also revealed that they reused some drawings from Archer season 3 when they did the two-part episodes featuring the gang's adventure in a space shuttle. FX has not yet announced the return date for Archer season 10, but speculations are that the series will launch this April, as with the previous seasons. Nash confirmed with Inverse that they are still recording the episodes, but there have completed a huge portion of the season.
Archer season 10 will also have guest stars like Jillian Bell, Matt Berry, and Sam Richardson. They will form part of the other crew that will face off with Archer's crew.
