A story from the tabloids revealed that Angelina Jolie is still feeling resentful over her relationship with Brad Pitt. Allegedly, the Maleficent star can't get over the fact that she reportedly gave up a lot for her career so that her ex-husband could pursue his.

Sources told Hollywood Life that Jolie is still struggling to find peace following the split. They claimed she still has feelings of resentment over the course of her professional status versus that of Pitt.

But Gossip Cop cited that the allegations of resentment aren't true. Both Jolie and Pitt did movies steadily during their years together. Jolie also branched out to directing at least three films and making blockbuster movies while she was married to Pitt.

The news outlet pointed out that the tabloid has, time and again, come out with discredited stories in the past. Gossip Cop also talked to reps from both camps who said that these reports aren't true.

Meanwhile, it looks like Jolie may be charting a different career trajectory by going into public service. She has been doing this before with her job as a United Nations Special Envoy. But when asked if she had any plans to run for office, the actress told People that she's not closing her doors. She's also in search of new leaders who could help her with her cause.

"If you look across the world, there are far too many women and girls who are not only not seeing progress, their rights are slipping away from them," the human rights and women's advocate said. "So, one of the things we are putting forward now is a proposal for a permanent international body to investigate war crimes, including mass rape and other sexual and gender-based violence."

As for her movie career, the actress is a frontrunner for the new superhero film Marvel's The Eternals. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kumail Nanjiani is also in talks to board the project which will have Chloe Zhao as director.

The Eternals is based on a comic book series from Jack Kirby. There have been few reproductions of this story, so it might not be familiar mythology for many comic book fans.

Filming for The Eternals will likely begin later this year. Meanwhile, Jolie has the sequel to her Disney film to look forward to. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is coming to theaters in October, and the actress will expectedly be heavily in the press a few weeks before the film comes out.
