Many fans are now thrilled about the up-and-coming release of Rick and Morty Season 4. Series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have been teasing fans about the imminent fourth installment of the popular American adult animated science fiction sitcom. However, neither of them has revealed official details about it.

As a matter of fact, some followers of the show got disappointed when Adult Swim failed to provide an exact release date for Rick and Morty Season 4 when it dropped a trailer early this year. The 15-second clip featured Rick and Morty in another dimension, which made fans more excited about the upcoming fourth installment. However, not all were satisfied with the update.

"Armathy is disappointed there is no date. pic.twitter.com/mYMXxxUKl2," one fan reacted on the Rick and Morty Season 4 trailer. "GIVE US SEASON 4 pic.twitter.com/Dy6qOVnDHv," another follower wrote.

There are no concrete details about Rick and Morty Season 4 up to this writing. However, series writer Ryan Ridley teased that the forthcoming new installment is likely to premiere in late 2019. Previous reports claimed that the show's fourth installment had been delayed due to Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland's hectic schedules as they are also doing other projects. Other speculations claim that the creators are having a hard time finalizing Season 4's plotline.

Good thing is, Justin Roiland shared an interesting detail on what fans could expect in Rick and Morty Season 4. The 39-year-old American actor-animator shared a photo from the series' set on February 8 and mentioned "Idc3" in the caption. For starters, "Idc3" is a short term for "Interdimensional Cable 3," which is a format that brings Rick and Morty to several different dimensions on the show. This, then, sparked speculations that Season 4 would be applying the same format, which was implemented in previous installments.

On March 12, background artist Amanda Wong confirmed that she had started working on the imminent new installment already. "I guess now is a good time as any to announce that I've been working on Rick and Morty season 4!" she wrote on Twitter. With this, avid followers of the show can expect that Adult Swim might reveal more details about the new season in the weeks to come.

The upcoming fourth installment is expected to premiere in August 2019. However, it should be noted that this is mere speculations and Adult Swim has yet to confirm the show's official release date.
